Achievements: Over the course of these 3.5 months, I have achieved and learned so much about this industry and the heart it takes to be in it. I've learned new skills that make me a valuable candidate and will carry over into any future positions I may have. For example, I become proficient in ActiveNet Recreation Management Software and became a Certified Inclusivity Assessor. I completed my semester long special project with the official title of Inclusion Inventory Assessment and presented my findings to the Parks Leadership Team and the P&R Board. I was able to attend and volunteer @ TRAPS Institute and learn firsthand from some of the pioneers and trailblazers of this industry. I got to develop my interest in special events, further my customer service experience by working front desk at the facilities, and work side by side with a broad range of people and personalities (moving from facility to facility taught me to never get too comfortable!). Overall, it was a one-of-a-kind internship experience. |
